Jennifer (Jenni) Maple leads advocacy for IAVI’s government relations for North America and Japan. She spearheads strategy, engagement, and relationship development with the US government and at the New York state and local levels. Her advocacy for HIV, tuberculosis, and emerging infectious disease prevention research helps ensure adequate support these priorities. She has a strong track record of working collaboratively with global health partners to advance these objectives. She utilizes IAVI’s platform and works collaboratively with partner organizations to influence policy and secure commitments from Congress, the White House, and federal agencies. She has extensive experience managing key relationships with government stakeholders, donors, multilateral representatives, advocacy partners, and coalitions. Her advocacy and leadership at IAVI have helped drive the development and passage of key US global health legislation, shaping impactful policy changes and influencing funding at the national, regional, and global levels.
Prior to joining IAVI in 2009, she worked briefly in southern Uganda coordinating a youth HIV/AIDS education and prevention program. Jenni graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Communications and International Studies.
